A cat cafe is a themed coffee shop where visitors pay a fee to relax, play with, and socialize with resident cats, (rescue cats available for adoption) in a cozy environment with drinks and snacks. Originating in Taiwan and popularized in Japan, these cafes offer stress relief and a chance to interact with cats, while supporting animal welfare. 

The Pretty Paw Lounge is part of Pretty Paw Rescue, a nonprofit cat rescue here in the Capital Region. All of our wonderful feline friends are saved from street life and given sanctuary at the cafe until they can find their forever home. 

Entry into the cafe is free of charge! All entries to the cat lounge are $15/per person for half an hour, $20/per person for an hour. Children 2 years and younger enter for free, all children 13 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

Please note that all guests are REQUIRED to sign a waiver before entering. You are not required to sign the waiver on subsequent visits. You can view and sign the waiver(s) here. 

All lounge entry fees go towards taking care of lounge cats, continued rescue efforts, necessary veterinary and medical expenses, along with spays and neuters.

All food items are prepared and pre-packaged off site. The cat lounge - where the cats reside - is separate from the café area.

At The Pretty Paw Lounge, we work in conjunction with shelters across New York to care for our fur babies and find them forever homes.   While we want you to leave happily with a bit of a sugar high or a caffeine buzz, we would really be over the moon if you left with your new forever friend!  

Yes! While our mission is to help all our furry staff find forever homes with loving people, we realize not everyone who adores cats is able to have their own. We also know this region is a temporary home for many college students and visitors, so perhaps you're away from your own pet(s) and you're longing for a little kitty snuggle time while here in the Capital District.

We understand things can happen and you may not be able to make it to your appointment! Changes to your appointment made within 24 hours of appointment time are not subject to a refund. If you are booking for an appointment that is already within 24 hours, you have 2 hours to make changes to your appointment to receive a refund. Anything prior to 24 hours of appointment time may be cancelled, or rescheduled depending on availability.

We highly suggest filling out an application in advance, so you are pre-approved when you find your match. You can fill out an application to adopt the day of your visit, and we do our best to review applications and check references quickly, but it is unlikely an application will be approved the day it is submitted. This process is to ensure our cats and their adopters have the best possible chance at a successful future together!
